The Select History

Select Communications is a privately owned Minnesota Corporation. Founded in 1994 as a reseller of wireless service, Select Communications was originally known as Select Cellular. As our name indicates, we were the first company to offer Twin Cities' customers the opportunity to "SELECT" the wireless service that best fit their needs!

KEY MILESTONES
1994 - Founded as Select Cellular
1998 - Grew to the 6th largest wireless reseller in the nation and launched Wholesale Distributor Division
1999 - Recognized as the 39th Fastest Growing Private Company in Minnesota by City Business
January 2000 - AirTouch Cellular (now Verizon Wireless) acquired Select's Wireless Resale Division
April 2000 - Changed name to Select Communications and focused on growth of Wholesale Distributor Division
2002 - Voted favorite place to buy wireless by Star Tribune readers
2003 - Recognized as the 14th Fastest Growing Private Company in Minnesota by The Business Journal
2004 - Recognized as the 41st Fastest Growing Private Company in Minnesota by The Business Journal
2004 - Twin Cities Retail Locations became T-Mobile Exclusive Dealers
2005 - Recognized as the 31st Fastest Growing Private Company in Minnesota by The Business Journal
2006 - Partnered with Alltel Wireless to open Premier Agent Retail locations
2006 - Recognized as the 40th Fastest Growing Private Company in Minnesota by The Business Journal

Retail: Select's Retail Channel is divided into two categories with stores exclusive to either
T-Mobile or Alltel Wireless. Their seven T-Mobile Exclusive Dealer locations are located in high traffic regional malls throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area. Select's Alltel Wireless Premier Agent locations are located in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Find the location nearest you.

Direct: Select's Direct Sales Team is focused on providing business customers, ranging from small to Fortune 100 companies, with the latest in wireless voice and data solutions.
